Cultural Theory in 1000 Words

My name’s Tony Libera. I’m a writer. You can read my stuff on City Pages and The Star Tribune, among other places.

I’ve been writing about culture a lot lately, more to wrap my head around the goings-on in the world these days than provide any solution. In an effort to spare people’s timelines of my rambling diatribes (and collate my thoughts) I’ve decided to move them here.

In rereading Roland Barthes’ “Mythologies,” I wanted to try and tackle issues in under 1000 words. As such, I’ve sacrificed some breadth in favor of digestibility.
